About Me

Me on yet another road trip

So, this is where you learn a little about me.  Ok...let's see...I was born right here in Alaska and have spent my life exploring the mountains and trails around my hometown of Anchorage.  I grew up racing in both Nordic and Downhill skiing disciplines and developed a taste for cycling in the summers as well.  My propensity for travel and my love of the outdoors lead me to attend college in Reno, Nevada because of it's proximity to the Sierra's and Lake Tahoe.  I spent a third of my life in the Tahoe area, cycling in the summer heat and skiing in the snowy winters.  I began to pursue backcountry skiing endeavors with many of my ski buddies as the mild weather and relatively safe snowpack of the Sierra's allowed us easy passage into the mountains.  The more I explored the backcountry, the further I wanted to go.  I graduated from college and moved to New Zealand to experience a winter in the southern hemisphere.  It was an amazing opportunity and I encourage any true ski bum to hit the road in August and head south to NZ.  When I returned, I began working with my dear friend and ski partner Casey Hakansson at Moment Skis.  My role at Moment gave me plenty of time to reflect on the road while traveling the country to promote the brand.

With all of these adventures came the desire to document them.  I bought a camera a number of years ago, but never really knew how to use it.  My experience grew with my time in the backcountry and pretty soon I was taking good pictures of all these amazing places I had a chance to visit.  This blog is about the pictures and places that I find so beautiful in our world.  Don't expect full trip reports or anything overly technical in my ramblings here, just pictures and the tales that go with them.  So swing by from time to time and check out what's new.  I hope to see you all out there.

Enjoy!

CORKY
